Experienced counsel without unnecessary layers

Some legal situations require determined litigation. Others call for a carefully negotiated agreement, a persuasive appeal, or timely advice before a problem becomes larger. The first responsibility is to understand the client’s circumstances, the governing law, and the outcome that matters most.

Clients work directly with Scott Lindsey. Questions receive thoughtful answers, risks are explained plainly, and significant decisions are made with a clear understanding of the available options and likely consequences.

Appellate court experience

While serving as senior staff attorney to Justice Anne Gardner at the Second Court of Appeals, Scott assisted with all aspects of the civil appeals assigned to Justice Gardner. His work included complex appellate procedural and jurisdictional issues, mandamus and other original proceedings, interlocutory and expedited appeals, and appeals from final judgments.

That position required sustained attention to error preservation, the appropriate standards of appellate review, Texas statutory and common law, and the Texas rules of appellate and civil procedure. The experience continues to shape how Scott evaluates the trial record, selects issues, and presents arguments to the judges who will decide the appeal.

Professional leadership and bar service

Scott currently represents District 7 on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. He served as president of the Tarrant County Bar Association for the 2024-2025 term after previously serving as president-elect, vice president, and secretary-treasurer on the association’s executive committee.

Scott has led the Tarrant County Bar Association’s Appellate Section and chaired its Brown Bag, Transition to Practice, and Community Outreach committees. He continues to secure speakers and moderate continuing legal education presentations for the Brown Bag Committee. He also served as panel chair on the State Bar of Texas District 7 Grievance Committee for the 2023-2025 term.
